Prize-winning children's author Richard Peck, who drew upon his Illinois roots for such favorites as "A Long Way from Chicago" and "A Year Down Yonder," has died.

Peck died on Wednesday at his home in New York City at age 84. His publisher, Penguin Young Readers, told The Associated Press, that he died after a battle with cancer.

MOUNT BETHEL, Pa. (AP) — A musician whose songs helped teach children on ABC's "Schoolhouse Rock" has died.

His son, Chris, says 94-year-old Bob Dorough died of natural causes Monday at his home in Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania.

The Comedian and voice actor Chuck McCann, who would be best known for his voice work on multiple Ducktales films, passed away on Sunday, April 8. McCann started his entertainment career back in 1959 when he appeared on The Charlie Weaver Show as well as The Steven Allen Plymouth Show. He was initially known for voicing the iconic Sonny the Cuckoo Bird for General Mills' Cocoa Puffs commercial, recording the famous line "I'm cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!" Over the years, McCann lent his voice to several different animated programs.
