Amos Oz, lauded Israeli author whose works included critically praised memoir A Tale and Love and Darkness which was made into the 2015 feature film, and an outspoken advocate for peace with the Palestinians, died of cancer Friday. His daughter, Fania Oz-Salzberger, confirmed her father’s death on Twitter. He was 79. “To those who loved him, thank you,” Oz-Salzberger wrote, adding he had died “after a speedy deterioration, in his sleep.”

CNN, reported January 3, 2018: 'Captain' Daryl Dragon dies with Tennille at his side.
Daryl Dragon, one half of popular '70s duo The Captain & Tennille, died Wednesday, according to his publicist Harlan Boll. He was 76.

Dragon, whose ever-present captain's hat left no doubt about which half of the duo he was, died of renal failure in Prescott, Arizona, Boll said.

CBS’ modern-day Sherlock Holmes & Watson drama series Elementary will end its run with its upcoming 13-episode seventh season. Rob DesHotel, writer/co-executive producer of CBS’ comedy series Man with a Plan, has passed away. He died suddenly yesterday of a suspected heart attack. The veteran TV writer-producer was 52.

He landed his first staff writing job on the NBC comedy series Hope & Gloria. DesHotel went on to work on the first two seasons of Joss Whedon’s WB drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer as story editor and executive story editor. He then joined Fox multi-camera comedy series That 70s Show at the start of Season 2 as co-producer and stayed on until the series’ end after eight seasons, rising to executive producer.
